My apologies for not keeping my blog up to date the last couple of weeks. I have been extremely busy packing up our classroom in preparation for the move! Things keep moving around on a daily basis, just to keep the kids on their toes! :) The furniture for the new school has arrived and the colours are sure bright! Can't wait to take the kids over for a tour!

We do have enough kids with skates and helmets so we WILL be going skating (weather permitted). Any child who does not return a signed permission form will stay at the school to participate in alternate activiites. Miss Longjohn and I are looking forward to the experience. Miss Longjohn and I are hoping to take our classes skating in February. The dates we have planned are Mon. Feb. 9 and Wed. Feb. 11. If the weather is too cold we will use the alternate dates of Tues. Feb. 17 and Wed. Feb. 18. We will be walking to the outdoor rink. Information and permission forms will be sent home next week. Some important information:
And of course if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call , email or drop by to talk to me. We all survived the first week back after Christmas break! The class looked VERY tired on Monday and we had lots of yawns and "is it time to go home yet" inquiries. But as the week went on everyone was back into the routine of school. I hope that you all had a marvelous break.
This week we were able to go into our new computer lab that is now set up with Chromebases. The kids now have to log on with their entire email address ([email protected]) rather than just their name. There was some confusion with the @ sign (that shift button is a little tricky) but everyone successfully logged on! We also went into a Google presentation, accessed songs on Youtube and closed tabs on our screen. I am constantly amazed at what the kids can do on computers. Next week we are going to work on copying and pasting a picture from a Google search into a document. The next round of hot lunch forms are available on the school website now. If you prefer a paper copy they can be picked up outside the office (or alternatively you can leave me a note in the agenda and I can grab one for you). |
