Our new tricky words this week are help, please, stop and more.
The last few weeks we have been working with Jan Brett's stories "The Mitten" and "The Hat". We have retold the beginning, middle and end of each story, sequenced the order of animals, did addition and patterns with the story characters as well as our Reader's Theatre play. Our kids have been VERY excited for the final performance and have been counting down to today. They started by working on reading their lines and progressed to reading fluently, accurately and with expression. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who was able to make it to the play. I think both the teachers and the students were blown away by how many people were there! Here's a picture of the crowd:
Don't forget that our Reader's Theatre play is THIS Wednesday at 1pm. If you can, come check out our play of Jan Brett's "The Mitten" and "The Hat". Looking forward to seeing you!
Our new tricky words this week are them, think and thank.
Thank you to those who have returned their portfolios.
The spring weather is upon us a little early. Students are excited to be outside however they need to navigate their way around the puddles. Hopefully these will dry up very quickly. We have completed our number books to 20. Students are now working on various activities to support the understanding of these numbers and the concepts related to them. Practicing basic adding and subtracting facts at home would be of great benefit. We have also been practicing our lines for the upcoming play. |
