We have been wrapping up our Science unit "Needs of Plants and Animals". Today we completed an art lesson on 3D shapes (math, language and science connections also) by choosing an animal to create along with their home. The kids had to choose a non fiction story out of the library to model their art after. Hopefully the animals made it gone safely in the wind!! Take a look at our pictures: Today we read a story called "The Pout Pot Fish in the Big Big Dark". The students had it visually represent the story and then verbally tell me while I recorded it. Listen to there Audioboo's by clicking on the links. (You'll have to press play and wait a minute for their voices to load)

Please send those back as soon as possible with the $10 fee. The fee can be made online, by cheque or with cash. If you need to make arrangements for the fee please contact me. Also if you are interested in volunteering for any of the field trips let me know which ones. I hope that all of you mothers have a wonderful day tomorrow. We worked really hard on our Mother's Day writing this week. Our handprint art project turned out so cute and so are the reasons! Check it out: This week we created poems about a colour. The students created a mind map of which colour and 6 things that were that colour. We then wrote our stories by hand and typed them up in a Word document. We changed our fonts (which was pretty exciting) and today we completed them by adding them to our blog. Take a look at your child's blog! Today we explored area in our Measurement unit. The kids worked collaboratively to measure different items in the room. Tomorrow we will complete the activity and compare the items. Here are some pictures of us working: |
