We realized yesterday there was a mistake on our calendar with hot lunches! It actually wasn't a hot lunch day. We did make sure that any child without a sandwich was provided with one and didn't go hungry! So sorry for the mistake and any confusion that it caused. There is an updated calendar on the Newsletters tab of our website.

This week Mrs. Parker's group has been working on logging into computers and playing sight word games. Students will be expected to use their computer login and password their entire learning career so we are spending some time working on using those passwords independently. The more we practice, the better we get! We've also been playing some fun sight words games (matching games and Bingo) to help us with those tricky words.
Due to the Kinette/Lions playground build at Centennial Park we had to move our Landmarks Tour to Monday, May 30th.
Students had a lot of fun at the Fort Ostell Museum. They really enjoyed looking at all the artifacts and learning new information about where they live.
The most exciting part was being able to make butter! Took a lot of teamwork shaking the mason jar but the end result tasted delicious! Thanks to everyone who came and volunteered! We are now officially done 4 days of swimming. The kids are LOVING their swimming lessons. Chop Chop Timber is always a favourite game for the kids. Here are a couple pictures from the last 2 days.
Thanks to some wonderful volunteers our courtyard has been cleared and is now ready for use! There was even a bird nest WITH baby birds discovered. We used our sense of hearing to listen to the babies chirping. The classes have LOVED being able to head out and read in the shade!
This week marks the last of our new tricky words. We will be working with the words could and should. The rest of the school year will be spent reinforcing these sight words.
The May Newsletter is up on the blog. A copy has also been sent home with each child today. Please note many upcoming hot lunch order dates.
A Spring Picture form has also been sent home. Please choose your background and pose and send it back to your homeroom teacher. Miss Larsen's class is swimming this week. We will be going Monday-Thursday and then the followong Monday May 9th. We will be leaving our swimsuits at the school each day. If you would prefer that your child's swimsuit is sent home, please let me know!
